The parish Church of San Lorenzo Martire, with its Romanesque façade, hosts in its interior several stuccos, paintings, a 17th century bellow organ, a baptistery and a holy water stoup of the year 1619. But the Church of San Lorenzo underwent also the transformations that interested the entire fortified village of San Buono in the 16th century. In fact, it includes the adjacent Caracciolo Noble Palace and medieval castle ruins, about which today only written sources are left. The public wash-house is worth visiting; it was built around the 16th century on a natural spring called "Fontana Vecchia" (Old Fountain). Made from handmade sculpted stone, once it was the liveliest place of the village, where women used to wash clothes during the day, and at night the peasants came back from the fields to water the animals.
