PALATA is a town of Molise region, Campobasso province that line on 520 metres above the sea leve with 1800 inhabitants. In the town you can find many amenities as bank, poste office, shops, restaurants, daily bus service to the main cities: Campobasso and Termoli. A very beautiful festival is held on 13 June for St. Anthony from Padua, when a parade of colorfully decorated wagons drawn by oxen proceeds along the streets of the village, probably a tradition inherited from the Slavic colonists that came to Palata in the early 16th century. Palata is 30 mins from the beach (Termoli), 1 hour from the main city Campobasso, 1h 30 mins from the international airport of Pescara (Abruzzo) and 1h 30 mins from the skiing slopes of Campitello Matese.
