Another church is the Chapel of Saint Lucia which is located in La Pineta, a pine forest which offers wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, including the Adriatic Sea. In Gissi wide variety of parties and festivals are held, many of which are religious holidays for the celebration of the saints, including the celebration of May 20th of San Bernardino of Siena. Other special holidays are the Feast of Saint Lucia August 20th and the Feast of San Rocco August 19th. Gissi has many attractions, restaurants and shops and is about 30 minutes from Vasto and the sea. Its population is about 3000 inhabitants.
